Our Company Values

If your organisation values the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), we can give you the peace of mind of knowing that your cleaning service provider has similar values.

At Hardman Office & Commercial Cleaning ltd we are proud to say that we take CSR very seriously and believe that we are industry leaders in this field. We have created a Responsible Business Policy which is reviewed annually and prioritises the following areas:

WE CARE For
THE ENVIRONMENT

WE ARE FAIR
EMPLOYERS

WE SUPPORT
OUR COMMUNITY

BEING AN INCLUSIVE AND FAIR EMPLOYER

When it comes to being a fair employer, we make every effort to stand out from our competitors and to help our team to feel valued and supported, resulting in our employees becoming a credit to our company and an asset to yours. Here are just a few of the measures that we have in place:

We have an inclusive recruitment policy and treat every job applicant with respect – regardless of gender, age, disabilities, sexual orientation, nationality, etc.

We are committed to our role as a Disability Leader employer, an assurance currently achieved by only 3 employers in Halton (as of August 2025). This status was awarded to our business due to our inclusive recruitment policy and the adjustments that we make to accommodate employees with disabilities, and for encouraging other local employers to do the same. This has created an environment where people with disabilities know that they can apply for work with us with confidence, knowing that they won’t be discriminated against within the application process or during their employment

This year, we became a Real Living Wage accredited employer, propelling our business and our employees securely into the modern era. This means that we have pledged to pay our employees at least the Real Living Wage, which is higher than the minimum wage and is the only wage rate in the UK to found itself on the actual cost of living in today’s world. This assures every employee that they are entitled to security, dignity, and a fair wage.

All of our employees have free access to our 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme with a team of therapists and advisors available to talk to about stress and anxiety, debt, addictions, relationships and legal matters, amongst a multitude of other important topics.

GIVING BACK TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY

We appreciate that our local community is essential to the success of our family business and feel a strong obligation to give back to our community through our relationships with local charities. We try to set an example to other local companies of what can be achieved when businesses and charities work together. Here are a few examples of the work that we carry out with charitable organisations:

We have been loyally supporting the Widnes Foodbank & Runcorn Foodbank since 2017, providing the cleaning services on a non-profit basis.

Since 2018, we have been showing our support to Halton Haven Hospice via regular monthly direct debits.

Each year, we hold a fundraising event for a charity of our employees’ choosing. In recent years, we have raised several thousands of pounds for charities including Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, Warrington Animal Welfare. Nightstop Communities NW, Cancer Research UK and the National Autistic Society.

MINIMISING OUR IMPACT ON THE PLANET

We passionately believe that all businesses have a responsibility do everything in their power to minimise their negative impact on the planet. That is why we take measures including the following steps to minimise our own carbon footprint:
From 2021 onwards, we have been actively participating in carbon offsetting schemes such as planting trees to offset our annual carbon footprint.
We follow recycling procedures in our head office and take dedicated care to ensure that our cleaning operatives are aware of recycling procedures at our customer’s premises.
To reduce the amount we send to landfill, we lengthen the lives of our cloths and mopheads through laundering instead of disposal where possible.
